Owner

• Karyn Carlson earned a Bachelor of the Arts in Elementary Education in 1990 from West Chester University, West Chester, Pennsylvania, and a Master of the Arts as a Reading Specialist in 1996 from Jersey City State College, Jersey City, New Jersey. She taught fourth and fifth grades for eleven years and during summer school sessions she served as a remedial reading teacher for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Aside from being a classroom teacher, Mrs. Carlson has privately tutored students in kindergarten through eleventh grade in reading, writing and math for twelve years. She is an Educational Consultant, training teachers on best practices for literacy instruction in several Southwest Florida counties through her consulting company ‘Create, Connect, Comprehend, Inc. In order to keep current with research, Karyn also attends summer literacy institutes at Teachers College – Columbia University in New York City. Mrs. Carlson is known for her passion of education and her dedication to helping both students and teachers move forward in their literary lives.
